Belgium started the tournament with a 1-0 win over Canada and is going into the game against Morocco as major favorites. This looks like an easy game to predict but from what we saw in the first round of Group F, anything is possible at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha.

Match Details

  • Belgium vs Morocco
  • FIFA World Cup, Group F, Match day 2
  • Date – 27/11/2022
  • Starting time – 2 PM CET
  • Venue: Al Thumama Stadium, Doha, Qatar

Belgium Stats & Form

Belgium came into the World Cup as one of the dark-horse candidates to win the competition. They are still in that role after the first game but the way the Red Devils played, no one would put their money on Belgium to win. They barely had the majority of possession and Canada created so many chances that is pretty unbelievable that Belgium escaped with a 1-0 win.

However, Belgium is on top of the group with 3 points and in the front seat to advance to the elimination face. They play Morocco next and Croatia in the final game of the group stage.

Belgium News

With the 1-0 win over Canada, Belgium ended the two-game losing streak.

Morocco Stats & Form

Morocco was not seen as a team that may advance from group F since they will face two of the top 3 teams from the last World Cup but things look pretty different at this point. Morocco stayed undefeated in the game against Croatia and proved that they can play against the best European teams.

Morocco has two top-class players which can make a difference in the game against Belgium. Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech didn’t have many opportunities against Croatia which will not slow him down in the following games.

Morocco News

In their four previous World Cup appearances, Morocco has passed the group stage only once, back in 1986.

Belgium vs Morocco Head-to-Head Stats

These two teams have played three times before with Belgium winning twice including a 1-0 win at the 1994 World Cup while Morocco won the last time they met, 4-1 in a friendly international game in 2008.

Belgium vs Morocco Betting Odds

Belgium is the favorite to win this game with 1.95 odds in their favor while Morocco is at 3.90. The odds for the draw are at 3.40.

The total goal margin is set at 2.5 with 2.05 to go over and 1.75 for under.

Betting Tip

Both Belgium and Morocco are satisfied with the result of the opening games of Group F which is probably not the case with the way they played. It is fair to say that Belgium barely survived in the game against Canada and Morocco was the worse team in the draw with Croatia. Now as both teams have broken the ice in Qatar, they are going into this second round match which will be of high intensity and possibly very dramatic. Belgium didn’t show any dominance or class that was expected of them against Canada and now they will have an even tougher opponent. Morocco is a much more experienced team than Canada and is hungry to stay undefeated and keep their chances to advance. They can be dangerous from the left side where Achraf Hakimi plays and Morocco will definitely score against Belgium. Whoever watched Belgium’s game against Canada saw that the only reason why they kept a clean sheet was the magnificent day by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The same cannot be said for the rest of the Red Devils but knowing how good they actually are, they will not allow any surprise against Morocco and win at least a point. In conclusion, the safest bet for this game is the both teams to score.
